I was quoted $725 in Houston. Including the windshield. 3m Crystalline. $999 for ceramic wrap also.

Thanks for the input. Going to check out a local tinter tomorrow, $600 for 3M Crystalline, need to confirm the warranty.
I think I will wait on the ceramic. I will probably only hand wash this car and while a ceramic I apply may not last as long it I see much, much cheaper. I am retiring in October and will have plenty of time for sweat equity, haha

BTW, what about the sunroof? Does it come with a factory tint? If not, do people get it tinted too?

The sunroof does have factory tint, but in AZ, I would imagine a lot of people will add the Crystalline tint to it since it reduces the radiant heat transferred to the inside of the car.

Got a local quote today. $730 vs. dealer $1200. 3M crystalline on windshield Formula 1 best ceramic on sides and rear window.
Dealer can match or I will go for the almost $500 savings. Large brick and mortar audio and tint place, Lifetime manufacturer warranty on cracking or peeling, I assume no one gives a warranty on scratches

$400 to do windshield in clear crystalline. Lifetime warranty. Deal or no deal?

2 step ceramic nano coating hand applied for $2500. 5 year warranty. Deal or no deal?

i am inclined to do the tinting because of lifetime warranty. Ceramic coating sounds really expensive.

Oh, BTW, Mythos Black Metallic, haha
The dealer is gouging you on both the tint and ceramic coating. SInce you already have a better quote for the tint, I won't focus on that, but the detailer I use installs Opticoat Pro Plus, which is a very good coating with a seven year warranty, for $1400.

Agree when I was in Scottsdale had my 991.1 tinted for far less from the dealer recommended shops. Deal is gouging you big time as you've already kinda discovered. Go with the local shop for $700 as likely its the same on the dealer uses. Remember most do not have an in-house tint/paint person but contract it out to the local shops. I just find out who they use and go to them directly for my car and future work. No need to add more to the dealer's bottom line.

BTW my dealer did my tint for $299 and then went ahead and threw it in for free after the fact when we picked it up at delivery....for both cars. (we got a Q5 also for my wife) so yeah there should be some negotiation room man.

In Gainesville or up in Colorado? Ceramic cost me a little more from a shop in Addison...but possibly chalking that up to being more expensive in Dallas.
