Pretty much sums up my issue - it's been a lot better since it's been cold.

I feel you man... it's super annoying considering how much my S5 cost

Didn't have this issue with my BMW 535 - super solid.

Ditto on that even when I sold mine at about 49K miles. So far my S5 has been rock solid and quiet with 13,000 miles on the clock. Fingers crossed.

yeah. The colder weather seems to really help keep the pops and crackles to a minimum but as soon as the warmer months come around and the AC is blasting it will all be back.

Had my car at the dealer for this. Road tested it with tech and they heard the rattle right away. Had the car for 2 days but fixed this issue.

2 days! I wonder how many/few hours they actually spent on the issue. I haven't been w/o my car yet. I'm not looking forward to a loaner...

The foreman at one of the dealers basically told me the Germans don't care about the creaks and rattles during the hot months in Phoenix. He's sent them numerous audio recordings of how much noise their cars make during summer and have mostly been ignored. I have no complaint right now about any interior noises but those noises will surely come back during the summer months.

I think I've isolated my only rattle to the middle read headrest (euro style). I don't hear the rattle when it's raised even a little but it's consistently there when the headrest is down on its lowest setting..

Our forecast for Thursday is 45 degrees C (or 113 degrees F) That should be a good test for the A/C and for heat-related rattles and creaks.

So far, 40+ degree days have been issue-free. In particular, the A/C works fine and the oil temp stays at 100 C (212 F).

I've got a rattle where at the hatch cover sides. I want to use felt tape on it, but no local stores hardware or craft stores have any. Where do you folks get your felt tape? And what kind have you purchased?

Check Amazon — that’s my usual “go to” for things like this.

Thankfully I don’t suffer the creaks and rattles . . . . yet (?)
