I think the S5 SB tank is 15.3 gallons, and I will often see 455 after a fill up. So my DTE calculation is assuming a generous 29.7 MPG. I'm guessing the algorithm probably uses the MPG average from your last 50 miles or so, and a lot of my fill ups are after a long trip - so I could see having a recent short-term average at or slightly above 30MPG. I'd never be able to average that high over the entire tank though, so the 455 is more of a 'you wish' than actual result.
Mine shows 447 miles but as i reach last 60 miles it shows i travelled 320-340. Never does the estimator gets it right.

Does your JB4 mod changes the transmission map? It might have in order to gain a quicker start from zero MPH.

With the warm weather on the East coast, the last long trip taken in my 2018 S5 resulted in 30.6 mpg on traffic clogged route 95! Exceeded the sticker and I never went over 90. The result was measured not from the instruments. Incidentally, my wife's A4 allroad did 32.1 same route/day.!!
I remain pleased with this kind of economy.

Next time you drive your car, put it into manual mode as you come to a stop. After you shift into M2, leave it. Come to a complete stop. Your dash will now read M1. The "don't break my car nanny" that overrides your manual mode selection will put you into 1st gear. As Avrx147 stated, the whole point of the thread was that *not* going into 1st gear was a giant anomaly. Likely the 1st time in over 10k miles. The S5 is programmed for 1st gear upon complete stop regardless of D / S / M dynamic, comfort, individual, whatever. RedKloud gave a possible reason that would override that programming, and I haven't driven the car since to check it out yet.

Most people's gripe is that it doesn't drop into 1st on a rolling stop. That's a whole different topic / thread.

You have a modded car and you're using that to gauge other stock cars on throttle lag? Jesus.

You think that the transmission or throttle changes at all when you tune the ecu? Man you really don't know anything about cars.

This thread is not about throttle lag. Yikes.

Does anybody else's S5 beside ArvX147 starts in 1 gear in auto drive mode? Personally, I would not mind starting in 2nd gear and give up that little bit acceleration for a smoother start.

Quoting my previous post:

The S5 is programmed for 1st gear upon complete stop regardless of D / S / M dynamic, comfort, individual, whatever.

If you come to a rolling stop and don't see 0 MPH on your dash, if you were in 2nd gear, you will remain in 2nd gear.
