They don't remove it.

In markets where it is available, it is an additional option. Audi models sold in NA are highly packaged, with relatively few options available outside these packages. The reasons for that have been discussed before, but simplistically it is dealer inventory vs factory order sales ratios, and the low unit margins on NA sales. Guessing this feature doesn't make the cut as a stand alone option nor for inclusion in the highest spec package - local call for US & Canada.

If the car has the Drivers Assistance package, you can set the system when at a stop and the car will hold the brake until the gas pedal is pressed. That's what I do at a long light and then once I get going I can cancel the cruise control or it will cancel the next time the brake pedal is pressed.

I see - thanks. It's strange that they picked something that costs them practically nothing... Maybe pressure from the competition will make them start providing it at some point. They are in a very competitive market - not sure why they would handicap themselves on a feature that's practically free for them.

Um. Normally advertisements are not allowed in forums unless it's from a sponsor. And more often than not, a first-time post with a link like that is an advertisement. I guess not in this case though!

Hey! I will not do the retrofit myself, as the process will be to difficult for me personally. But I do have a instruction file on how to do the install and coding. It is in German tho.
