I know you sell AWE and with AWE being a sponsor you may be reluctant to say too much but I am considering an exhaust system switch and have some concerns. I live about 45 minutes from AWE and would probably contact them about an install — but I do not want the fitment / installation issues that some of our members have identified.

Any direction would be appreciated, or if you want, PM me.

I will send you a PM. Would like to keep this thread Milltek focused.

Hi, John! Feel free to contact me directly with questions, but I believe you're referring to an incident that I imagine to be a result of an installation error as I have never heard of any issue regarding B9 system fitment to this day (especially anything relating to drive shaft contact aside from this one individual), and there are a lot of 'em out there. I also have no record of anyone contact me personally about any issue of the sort. Again feel free to PM me directly or email.

Wow! There's an interesting undertone of 80s italian V12 intake resonance going on in those videos. Odd, and I don't know why, but that's what it sounds like to my ears. I like it! Especially in closed valve mode.

Default Decision Decisions Decisions!!

I have been looking at getting an exhaust for my 2019 RS5 Sportback for a couple weeks. I was looking between the Milltek and AWE exhaust, eventually I decided to go with the AWE. Now here comes the tough part (at least for me). I want the exhaust to be noticeable when I need it to be. The thing that I’m having a tough time deciding over is if I should get the non resonator exhaust or the resonated for Performance Catalysts and yes in the future I want to tune the vehicle. I’m worried that if I get the exhaust with the resonator it will sound exactly like the stock exhaust. If anyone here has heard both AWE exhausts in person your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Where is this exhaust available from vendors? Have yet to see any offerings at the usual suspects in the US. TAG or ModBargins...nada. AWE only. Anyone recently sourced one of these and from where? Also any difference between resonated vs non resonated. AWE sounds great on my son's BMW but I do want to retain my valve function.

Can source from me. I am a authorized Milltek dealer. Currently, only the non-resonated has been confirmed to fit without issue. I installed the partially resonated and while it fit, it did have clearance issues. Milltek is getting a SB soon and will confirm all systems.

The valve function on the Milltek is fantastic. When valves closed, you do get more volume over OE but not over the top. When valves are open, different ball game. Car comes alive and is angry. The partially resonated I found had a marginal volume change over OE though the tone was deeper.

I haven’t heard both in person but can attest that the non-resonated Milltek has totally different personalities between closed and open valves. Videos of AWE do sound great but if you want to retain valve functionality, the Milltek is the way to go.

I haven’t had a customer who went with the non-resonated be disappointed.
