I think it's more a case of the vacuum the SB creates. It's been rainy on and off where I am, and the place that is most dirty on the car is the license plate and either side of it. They're are visible dirt marks where the rain has dried.

I would fully agree here. Even just general dust / dirt collects on the back end between washes when the car didn't see any wet roads. Maybe someone with an aftermarket spoiler on the lid can tell us if that improves the rear end vacuum (ha).

Agree. Compared to my X5, this is truly a high quality system. Always clear, even in rain, with brilliant color. Not sure what others are seeing or accustomed to, but in my experience, the S5 camera system is excellent

Per my reply at #10 in the list, apparently there are two different cameras on offer for the B9. One that's bueno the other muy mal. I'm guessingthat it's related to inclusion of Audi parking system plus with top view camera in the build.

@-=Hot|Ice=- Is yours a Prestige trim?

In fact, I had two passengers comment on the clarity of the image, which has never happened before in any of my other cars.

Ah! Thanks. So that's most likely why there are such different reactions to the image quality. I did notice the lower quality on the A4 non-Prestige loaner but I chalked it up to the lower resolution of the smaller screen rather than the camera itself.

Anyone notice the rear camera display is compressed horizontally in the high res. display with parking sensors. Does anyway have a fix to correct the aspect ratio?

That's because of the fish eye lens.

The fisheye lens is a wide angle lens, the center of the lens should be optically correct. My last car also have wide angle camera and still display the correct aspect ratio. I think the problem is that some Audi have parking sensors and some don't. To display the parking sensors while in reverse, Audi change the aspect ratio of the camera display to fit everything in.
