What the hey? Audi semiconductor shortage package?

Sounds more like we take a two year vacation from Audi until/unless this ****e gets straightened out.
I'm keeping the 2018 A5SB...not ordering anything!

This is only on some dealer ordered vehicles not customer orders. Not any different from what Mercedes and BMW is doing, except Audi is showing the missing items as a package (kind of smart I think).

Means lots of "missing items" to be aware of if folks are looking at used vehicles once these vehicles start coming off their leases in the future. Any guesses for likely resale value impacts .

Creative.
BTW don't expect the chip shortage to start resolving until late 2024 at the earliest, heard this from a chip insider.

Very plausible. Ukraine supplied 50% of the global neon supply and neon is critical for chip production. Neon is a by product of steel production. Those steel mills where the neon is generated have been heavily damaged if not outright destroyed. This production capacity will take years to replace.

It's just not the neon, but it also takes time to set up the foundries and get to full production. These are commodity chips the profits is in the volume and labor cots. The Covid pandemic, our trade feud with China is not helping either. In a highly integrated world economy a problem in one place dominos into many others.
