Wheel & Tire insurance???
I want to take Wheel & Tire insurance for my S5SB, which will hopefully be delivered this week.
Any idea what I should pay at the dealership vs what I should pay to a 3rd party company?
I'd certainly rather take what the dealer recommends but I don't want to get whacked over the head for it.

Over on the Macan forum most of the guys say that with 18 and 19 inch wheels your okay without wheel insurance. The 20-21 inch wheels are different story, most get the insurance!
However, all this depends on your roads, are they full of really bad pot holes from the freeze-thaw cycle, and how good are you at dodging them? I wouldn't get the insurance with 19s!

ya, i'm wrestling with it. May depend on how good of a deal i can get on it. I've bought 2 cars in 3 weeks from this dealer so I should have juice.
But I am a gambler at heart...

I'm in NoVA and after dealing with 17" and 18" wheels w/runflats (MINI, BMW) and the bent rims/blistered tires due to potholes, I bought wheel insurance for my S3 w/19" wheels. The less sidewall, the more at-risk the wheel is. My 19"s run roughly $700 each at a place like ECS Tuning, probably a bit more at the dealer.
