Default the yellow oil warning took me by surprise...

Most unwelcome on Thursday night just prior to Good Friday. I skated through the first change cycle and wasn't expecting to need to add oil. When I phoned parts at the dealer this morning they weren't sure which oil I needed. I told them 0W-20, which they had in stock. I checked with service when I got there and the young lady told me 5W-40! Anyway, she pulled the record from the oil change and it was 0W-20. It's this kind of looseness that keeps me on edge with Audi.

I have my “1 year / 10K” (though I’ll just be at about 5K) coming up in a couple of weeks. According to the dipstick (and the Audi App) i’m about 1/4 of a quart low but I’ll just watch it although I do have a case of the Audi recommended Castrol 0W-20 in the garage, just to be sure.

I’ll make sure that my SA knows to spec that oil when they change it — and just hope the parts / mechanics do it right!

I think you meant to say 0W-20, Nikon. The 0W-40 would be a little too thick at temp for our cars.

My dealer is only 30 km away, but down 1.25 liters my oil was right on the edge being too low according to the digital dipstick.

installed their shop mineral oil. And then lied about it. The amsoil cartons were in the trunk...
This was my 2K4.2A6 with 'free' oil changes during the lease....since I intended to keep the car I changed to amsoil after the first 500 miles. That engine burned very little oil between 6K oil changes using 15W-40 amsoil marine/diesel oil. Spectrometric oil analysis showed very little wear as well. I finally ended up around 100K stopping oil filter changes every oil change and just changed filters ever other change. That engine had like a liter capacity long oil filter too. Not particularly easy to extract from under the car without making a mess.
