I am looking to get my wife in a new car...because I want one...so I am pushing it on her. As a result, I am posting to see if anybody wants a 2002 allroad with appox. 50K miles. It is a 6-speed manual car that I would describe as "massively loved" and no expense spared to make it right. However, the bad news is that we bought it as a California buyback car at 8K miles in 2003. I hate having a "story" car, but this one has a blemished CarFax -- never crashed but blemished. The mitigator is very good paperwork showing that the PO (the first) and their dealer were just plain stupid. I took it to Sunset here in Portland the day I bought it in 03 to address the "unfixable" warranty issues of "non-working steering wheel functions" and they informed me that the entire wiring harness was still shrink-wrapped and never hooked-up. I concluded that the guy decided he didn't want a manual...or coulndn't afford it -- and I have subsequently never had a single problem, as the service history (during the warranty period) will show...and have now had it 5 years.

During that time, I have added a Milltek catback exhaust, GIAG software (which lowers EGT by 50 degrees C and I think is thus the ultimate "cake and eat it too" upgrade), transmission stabilizer, four-corner new rotors, pads and stainless brake lines. Aside from oil changes and services, the total is close to $10K, with all of the (much-needed) brake upgrades (approximately $2K) spent in the last 6 months.

Car is Atlas grey with the heavy, expensive two-pice wheels (which are curbed a lot) and new allroad tires...and I think all options but sunshades. I have all books, records, keys, etc.

I have orignal exhaust and other stuff. Moreover, there is only one little ding (on the roof) and the interior is very close to a 10 (other than a few Cheerios in the backseat). I hate to be a blowhard, but this car's driver-side seat bolster looks pretty-much new.

I will try to get off my Amish *** and post some photos, but in the meantime I would love any suggestions on value given all of the "moving parts" of this particular car.
