Default 04 AllRoad 2.7T 6-speed at the local dealer...

I am thinking of taking a look at an 04 allroad 2.7T 6-speed with 27,xxx miles or so, it is cobalt blue.. dealer is asking $33,875 with the CPO.. I never really considered an AllRoad before.. Do you think this car can be negotiated to $28k-$29k??

I saw several threads down someone selling their 04 allroad asking $29.5k for a tip.. I would think a 6 speed would be less since it's a hard sell in most areas..

Default Miles high, hard to pin value. Anything close to 30 is great, I think.

Few 6 speeds sell at auction, so no real wholesale price guidance from Manheim based on my look just now.
Be sure the car is really up to CPO or any standards - CPO is mostly marketing, not inspection. Get new tires, non-OEM and ones of your choosing as part of negotiations. Take it for your own personal inspection to check for collision repair. Get service records, too.

If you get it, post. Some dealers may not even tell you what service is due when properly, like free brake fluid flush every 2 years.

Default Thanks, I'll at least take a look...

Even if it's in perfect condition, I don't think I'll bid over $28.5k.. We have an A6 2.8 avant in the family, I am not terribly impressed with service / # of recalls its gotten / build quality, although the idea of having a 6 speed allroad is really intriguing at the right price..

Default Opposite logic...

6spd will command more in some places. They usually sell for a few grand more on ebay due to rarity. I am not sure a dealer is going to let a CPO go for under 30K. You might get them to $31/32K. How long has it been on the lot? If they just got it in and its a 6spd it will likely be tougher to bargain - they know the 6 speed is rare - if its been sitting on the lot 3+ month maybe you could get $30k or so.

Default They're also rare cause people dont buy them to begin with when they're new....

Audi enthusiasts on AW chipping their all roads and buying 6 speeds is not indicative of the typical all road buyer at all...

stick shifts are always a very hard sell for luxury sedans and wagons... another dealer was more than willing to dump an 03 allroad 6 speed with low miles, they were asking $30k.. BMW X5 and 5-series stick shifts always ask for less money than their automatic counterpart..and their customers tend to be more sports oriented..

Default My '04 6 speed has had zero recalls and zero non-scheduled maintainence

Well, there was the alignment and the crappy oem goodyears wearing out at 28k. Otherwise, this is the most reliable car I've ever had so far. Many tranny is sweet. Love it! Putting on some Falkens as soon as they ship!

Default Regional Differences

Yes for the most part true. In the Northeast though the 6spds sell. I had a tough time getting one and dealers stood strong due to demand vs supply in this region.

28k on OEM tires? With bad alignment? remarkable. You'll love the Falkens.
