Mute?! Does it make noise in some models? Yuck...
...the blinking light is bad enough. I've found that I tend to ignore it, or not notice it, and it'll blink away for quite some time.

You can...
It will go off briefly/temporarily if you press the reset button, or either side of the "scroll" switch that changes the display.
The timer will reset to 0:00 if you turn of the ignition for more than 10 minutes. If you stop for less than 10 minutes it will continue to blink/beep every 2 hours.

Right -- even just the scroll switch resets it. But...
I'd be happy to disable the &$%# thing altogether.
