Default Front Brake Judder

Is is possible for the front brakes to cause a strong judder/vibration in the left front of my 01 Allroad (171k miles). There is some pulsing in the brake pedal but lots of shimmy and shaking when stopping. I have replaced the upper rear control arm, the bottom control arms, and the drive axle in the past two weeks. The front upper control arm seems good. I am ready to change the rotor and pads but really want to know if there other parts that can be causing this problem. Otherwise the ride and driveability are excellent.

Thanks,

Michael
