I need a front hood strut for my 2001 allroad. It has leaked out and will not hold the hood up at all. I put the info for my car in at autohausaz.com, but it came back saying I need two of the struts they list, one per side. My car only has one strut on the driver side.

Any idea where I can order the correct one? I want to change this before I sell the car.

www.genuineaudiparts.com and your ar right its only 1.
Its cvalled a HOOD SUPPORT STRUT and is about 45.00 but you can likely get a generic at Autozone. Take yours off, and match up the length and the fittings.

i got a replacement strut from advance auto parts
i think it was $20-25, they had it on sale

thanks for the heads up on the local stores. I thought I saw some prices in the $50-80 range at a local autozone. Hopefully my eyes were deceiving me. I'd like to get it locally and fix it right away.
