Default Have any of you taken a report from your Indy to Dealer and said..."my Indy says...

...X-Y-Z are broken and need fixing please do it" on a CPO car? I am assuming you are not really endearing yourself to the dealer. I suspect I have a leak at turbo and cam seals and am taking my car to Indy to look and document same as well as complete an 80K service (plugs, oil, filters, brake fluid).

When I brought up the potential leak(s) to the dealer at last CPO visit the response, and I quote from service report, was

"Check for residual oil leak:
10012900 Engine Cleaned.
76042 Inspect Minor wet spots. Cleaned up residue"

To a service writer it was nothing...to me, a "wet spot" is indicative of something.

I guess I'm simply asking if a non-dealer opinion carries any weight at a dealer.

Joe '01 6sp.

***EDIT I had only noticed gunk and dried "stuff" around the top of engine and assumed it was just residual oil. When I put my H-sports on I SAW oil on bottom of case. I wish I had taken a pic. It wasn't like my old air cooled porsche that dripped all day long but def. was oil collected from somewhere.

Default The dealer won't do a thing based on an Indi's recommendation.

The dealer has to make a determination if you have a leak or the seal is weeping. If they feel its a leak they will fix it. No money out of their pocket but they do have to get an OK from the insurance co..

Default Yes, but in a slightly different way....

I said, I was under the car during the weekend and saw the following. Knowing that you cleaned the engine last time, I thought that it was strange to see....

I've also heard from other allroad owners that this area is a common area for all allroads. Do you think you could look into it please?

I found that telling them that "my indy" spotted _____, sets off alarms and that they are now being put on record that you are watching over them which may ar may not be to your benefit. I'd hold it as a last resort.

I'd also go to a dealer that has a good service rep.
