How would I know if my car is already chipped?
I've never driven an Allroad before this purchase. I've owned a 98.5 A4 2.8M and a 225hp 6 speed TT. This Audi seems a little stronger than expected from a 4,200 lb car with Tip.

You could ask your dealer...
You could try the APR chip test.
1. While the motor is on and you are parked. Push in the Cruise control button and hold it for 10 about seconds. If the engine light starts to flash on the dash you have an APR Soldered in chip.. whatch the pattern once it starts to flash faster, let it go you are in chipped mode.
2. If the above does not start the flashing, then turn the car off and then turn it on without starting. Push the cruise button again.. if it starts to flash wait for the faster pattern then let it go. Turn the key off, then count to 10. Turn the key on, count to ten. Turn it of.. start the car you are in chipped mode with APR's flashed software..no soldered in chip..
If none of the above happens, then you don't have an APR Chip/flash. But you could have GIAC or REVO or Dahlback, and for this you may have to open your ECU, ask the dealer or a mod shop to scan it, or rummage through the car and look at every nook and cranny storage area foe a small hand held loader about the size of a cell phone. If you find it some one left you a present.

It means the dealer didn't do his job...
...and when the owner has a warranty claim that could be impacted by the increased power output of the chip, he'll probably have a fight on his hands to get it done under warranty.
