Default HP 2 Question.....I was wondering..

would the HP2..and corresponding rotors, fit the rear? What adaptation plates, fittings, etc. would be needed?

Default Probably a bad idea - assuming it would fit, wouldn't that unbalance the f/r brake bias?

B5 S4 rears are the cheap upgrade path. (I have a set

Default Yes, too much rear brake in relation to the front is a bad thing. The set

needs to be balanced to achive the best braking. Don't know if HP-2 would fit in the rear though, I wouldn't want to try it.

Default I assume that with the right mounting bracket they would fit (more)

but like others have said - you'll need to balance that out with something really big up front to maintain something resembling the current bias.

I have been looking into brake options for a while now and will have something completed in the next little bit. Looks like Vast performance and Stasis have options for the rear that involve using an S4 rear caliper. The Vast kit mates that to with an S8 rear rotor. The Stais kit with one of their rotors. With those in mind last week I picked up a set of B5 S5 rear calipers - used ones from a local seller. When I figure out next steps I'll let you know.

Also - no rear parking brake on the HP-2. I'll check VAST, didn't know they had a kit ready.

Default here is the VAST kit:

I have it bookmarked so I'll save you the search. note this is for an S4, so I am not sure whether the caliper brackets will mount straight up to the allroad, or whether something would need to be machined.

http://www.vastperformance.com/products/braking.php</a

Default it was an "I wonder" question being I'll have two sets of HP-2s.

After I rebuild and rfinish them both, I was wondering; perhaps both would fit f+R?

So I'll just sell the extra set after I redo them.

Default Thanks, no search needed, I know their site. I think the brackets mount right up; a very ...

.... similar upgrade is described in the linked tech article.

A8 Brakes for other Audi Applications
