Default new driver front level sensor Q's

Do I need to run vagcom after install of my level sensor? I don't have the vagcom yet but want to install the sensor when it arrives.

If you can install it to near exact same angle / degree as the old unit, should be fine.

How can you install it any degree other than what it'll let you?

Likely you may need to calibrate the new sensor, may have to do adaptation. Essentially, just like the 402 mod except without altering vehicle height.

Perhaps I'm mistaken but doesn't suspension angle change based on whether vehicle is raised off ground or the suspension at X corner is different than the other 3 corners? It's always been my understanding that the suspension operates on memory, hence the need to lock suspension before working on components. In that way the suspension knows where its last setting was and will adjust more precisely after repairs? An example could be removing sensor with car on ground at level X for instance, but replacing sensor while suspension is suspended whereby disrupting the memory of last known sensor setting?

I've been wrong before and could be wrong here, but I'm aware that strange things have happened to air suspension systems readjusting to their proper level on not just allroads but a host of other air suspension equipped vehicles after suspension worked was preformed without taking into account this issue. Pretty sure there are threads here regarding it.

Actually, the purpose of the "lock" mode is only to stop the system from trying to level the car when one or more corners have been jacked up. Raising it completely up (all 4 corners) automatically engages lock mode.
Now, about the level sensors: just like all other Audi's with these devices, the parts are mechanically mounted to the car and there is no adjustment. When the car is lowered back down to the ground the sensor will detect it's position and make any necessary adjustment to level the car. In other Audi's with these things the adjustment will be to headlamp level only.
To be perfectly clear, install it and forget it.

Install it, move the car across heights and then take a piece of rigid string or a long ruler and measure distance from center of wheel to your fender vertically (I actually use a small level for this, it has a on its edge). If the new wheel is more or less (by max of 5mm) at the same level, call it a day. If it is off, you need to calibrate the system.

quick question. I need a part of level sensor for a project, namely the arm itself. This would be for developing a kit which would extend the adjustment range so that you can go lower and higher (at the same time!) in your allroad.

Would it be possible for you to mail it over once you swap the new sensor in? I will naturally cover the mailing cost.
