Default New RS 6 Replica Wheel information. . .

A couple of days ago I queried Achtuning about the upcoming RS 6 replica wheels that were "coming soon" -- their response was they would be available in 4 - 5 weeks.

That seemed OK to me and I thought I would wait and save both the aggravation and the expense of spacers.

Today, I received the following e-mail from Achtuning:

"Mark, Josh and I are trying to figure this whole spacer deal out, it might
be quite a while before we get the wheels that don't need spacers, and if
you want the wheels soon it might be worth it to just do the custom spacers.
Noah, are you familiar with what the situation was with the spacers on Tim's
wheels? I'd like to get this squared away so we can sell them to Allroad
customers.

Duly submitted.

Frankly, I am still inclined to wait.

Default Isn't there another Shop around?

Why can't they simply say "We don't know yet"?
How many Weeks are in "quite a while"?
Maybe I missed a part of this story, what is it all about, RS 6 Reps with or w/o Spacer?
To be honest, at this point I would move on to the next shop. Don't forget, you'll get what you pay for, and don't let anyone make you become a guinea pig because you showed so much patience.
Just my personal assessment. If I read things like this than I really appreciate the guys from C.F.I..
No BS and a time frame to work with.
Good Luck!

Default Who else has the RS 6 replicas with center caps?

Achtuning told me earlier this week that the wait would be 4 - 5 weeks.

I would rather avoid the expense and possible problems associated with spacers.

My tires are OK and at this point THAT would be the ONLY reason to make me get the WHEEL THAT I WANT with a spacer, if I KNOW that I can get the same wheel and NOT NEED spacers a month or two in the future.

Having said that -- does anyone know where the RS 6 replicas are available, if anywhere, other than Achtuning?

Thanks.

Default How much would it cost, if you don't mind asking....

I found quite a few on ebay, Germany. Complete with tires. It might be worth the effort, and they are not replicas, which I think is better.

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2427387471&cat egory=28648</a

Default What size and offset do you guys want?

The 19x8 and 18x8.5 are both et 30. If a 5mm spacer was used you would still have hub contact with the wheel. If a 10 mm Fk spacer was used there spacers have a extrusion that goes into the wheel. This type of spacer is widely used by German manufactures. Ronal uses this, Lorinser and RH use this system exclusively. Heck Bens Fikse wheels have a 5mm spacer that has been set screwed permanent to the pad of his wheel. What offset is optimum for you guys,if there is enough of you we can build it. We do have a new wheel in 18x8 that will be produced in a ET 20 or 25mm called the F1 ( Achtuning a has the picture available ).

http://www.achtuning.com</a

Default The stated price. . .

on the Achtuning web site for 18"'s is $1095 a set -- I assume there is some wiggle room.

The ones on ebay are 19" -- but of course if they are real RS6 wheels they will not fit an allroad without spacers -- so we're back to the replicas and a month or so wait.

So, $250 per wheel, no tires -- list for the RS 6 knock offs.

I have heard that it should be $1100 with tires. Beats me, I have not offered any money to anyone yet.

Default I give up, I'm lost, ....why not getting the real deal with 19" and Tires.......

...and put Spacers on? The total price won't make much of a difference. But you sure would have real RS6 wheels. Well, what ever makes you happy, good luck, and keep your eyes open for some alternative deals. You are smart by not giving them any Money up front. Old Sales Rule - first the Merchandise than the Money.
The 18" will look great on the ar, that's for sure, just keep the pressure up.

With the power of the net, perhaps we could pull off a group buy?

I don't want to have to use spacers unless I have to, that's all!
