is it normal if the driver's side mirror doesn't fold when I use the switch?

Sounds like something is wrong with your mirror switch.
The mirror should tilt down when postioned in the pass side mirror adjustment setting when engaging reverse. Then both mirrors should tilt in when turning the switch towards the 6 o'clock position.

I do have one folding mirror: the passenger side. And can't figure how to fix the other one...But now at least I know that they both should fold.
