Default O2 Sensors & Error Codes

I've searched the forum but am still a bit confused...

Is Bank 2 pre-cat and Bank 1 post-cat?
Is Sensor 1 driver's side and Sensor 2 passenger side?

Error messages are:
P0155 - Heater malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 1)
P0135 - Heater malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

Thanks!
Chris

Bank 1 is the side where cyl 1 is. For Audi it the Passenger Side.

Sensor one it the front sensor 2 is the rear.

In both cases your front 02 sensors are showing a code. Clear them and see if they both return.

So it should be:

Sensor 1 is Pre-Cat (front)
Sensor 2 is Post-Cat (rear)
Bank 1 is Driver's side
Bank 2 is Pass side

They do return and I've already bought the O2 sensors. Need to replace in order to pass DEQ here in Oregon.

Thanks for the info.

Sorry, I re-read your first post and did not type it out correctly. Bank 1 is Passenger side.... got it.

Thanks!

Not too derail your thread, but I have a similar question. Below is the message VAG-COM is returning the following for address 01. I've thrown it twice in a month. The first time I was greeted with a CEL, which VAG-COM revealed to be the below. I did not clear the code and the CEL went off a few days later on it's own. That lasted two weeks, but a CEL with the same VAG-COM message just reappeared last night.

17521 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor; B1 S1: Internal Resistance too High
P1113 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

My logic says that the pre-cat O2 sensor on the passenger side is failing, but I want to confirm this is the case before purchasing a new one.

I have. Almost all I've read is indicating a faulty O2 sensor, but some of the responses seem to be dartboard type answers from folks using about the same logic as myself. I ask here in an attempt to validate what I've read.

"Internal Resistance too High" means open circuit. This is either electrical problem (check the wires) or the sensor itself. I would advise swapping the sensors around to see if the code migrates. If it still shows on the same bank but with the other sensor... electrical problem.

Good advice. I'll swap 'em and see what happens. Thanks.
