Default Owned by a Camry.....level heads prevail...

You know the story...sitting at a light...2 lanes into one...ricer in a CAMRY starts inching up, thinking he's going to blow off grandpa in the wagon next to him...blissfully unaware of the twin-turbo beast that resides in the sedate wagon....

Light turns green, but alas, turbos not up to temp yet....I was owned by a Camry, but will live to race another day...

Default Had a similar experience coming home from dinner the other night. Was on an on-ramp behind

a slow, slow truck (full of tree cuttings no less) and really wanted to blow by him into the left lane as the gore approached, but same as you, things were too cold yet to do anything but putz along in second place.

Default Opposite experience yesterday, got the chance for some nice 3rd gear pulls against a DB9

while out on the highway.

He was sitting in the left lane, and I was in a hurry. After waiting a little while I went to make a move around him on the right. he didn't like that and took off. The new DB9 is impressively strong but from 80 to ~115 he didn't really stand a chance. After the first run, we slowed down, then he tried to run again. same result he was several car lengths back at the end.

Oh, and I was on the motorcycle, the allroad wouldn't have stood a chance! :-)

Default Gotta get me a bike...my brother constantly tells me how fast his is..(Yamaha R1)

And my only reply is the allroad standard..."yes, but how fast with your wife, 3 kids and 2 dogs?.."

Even more fun if it is a boy in a souped up Civic and he thinks it's GRANDMA in an old station wagon. Even without using the tiptronic with the 2.7 turbo I usually find them looking down the block after me wondering where I went Sometimes it is just too much fun...how could you have this much fun in any other station wagon...AND still haul hay and saddles out in a pasture

Default warm up those turbos before you start out and you won't get left behind:)

Only problem of course is that to really get it warm in our winter you have to let her run for 10 minutes...does defeat the purpose of not driving an SUV, but much more fun than any old "truck" I used to drive
