Default Rear passenger door window replacement experience?

Has anyone replaced a window in the rear door of their allroad or other modern audi? Is it tough to do, something I can handle myself, or is it something that's better left to the professionals? @ $250 vs $50 for just the factory glass + my labor......any BTDT?
My dog just put his head through the window (he's fine, except for my wrath!)
Thanks!

Default Not w/Progressive....$250 deductible and repair is just about that much

I went through them first.....unfortunately it comes under comprehensive and I've got the $250 deductible, exactly what it's going to cost to repair

Default bad Otto! (did he see a squirrel or a lady dog?)

I'd have it done - you want to get it seated right so there are no leaks.

Default WOW... NY...Geico...

Comprehensive is 250.00 but all glass is $0.

I'd go to a local shop and ask how much for a pay yourself. you will find the cost is lower.

I've never replaced one on the AR, but shouldn't be too hard...

Default datapoint from M-B SUV

My brother accidentally weedwhacked a rock through his neighbor's ML320 passenger side rear window.

Total cost, including MB-sourced tinted window glass AND attached regulator: almost $500.

(shaking head) Glass is Gouge city.

Default Re: Glass coverage is optional on your comprehensive

coverage. On a multi-car policy it will cost you
around $15 each car. The "Direct" insurers do not offer it, you need to ask for it. This is a good example of why everyone needs an agent.
