Shift Knob comes off?

Shift **** comes off?
I've shifted from 1st to 2nd about 15 times today, pulling the shift **** off the post about 12 of those times. What's going on here? Is anyone else's THIS easy to pull off?
It's bad enough they don't screw on, but this is rediculous.
(please don't bother to blame the way I'm shifting, been doing it long enough)
I do have to reach down to shift more in this car than recent others, but it still shouldn't do this.
