so I've never really kept tabs until now... but my DIS is not optimistic mpg wise.
I did buy the car used so <i>maybe</i> the previous owner calibrated the computer. but i kinda doubt it because that would be the very first indication that my ar was anything but 100% stock (when I bought it)...
just an FYI because I have read several times the DISs are typically 5% optimistic.
past couple tanks I have kept track manually and the computer actually reads about .2 mpg lower than my manual calculations.
I have been reseting the average mpg in the DIS and the trip odometer at each fill up.
oh, and I've been getting about 17.4mpg (17.2 on DIS). with very little hypermiling effort, lots of hills and plenty of time at WOT...

I just put $76 in the tank :'(

Unfortunately the "calibration" is only in 5% steps, so being within 1% is a stroke of luck
