Default Spark Plugs - 2.7 ??

Recently asked about the proper plugs as I remember some problems with upgrades in the past. As a result I ordered the BKR6ES - which is what I thought I needeed. Now that I am changing, the factory installed plugs coming out are the PFR6ES.
Any guess as to why I would want to change if they were good for 80K?
TIA tim

Just looked at sparkplugs.com and the B's are traditional and the allroad came with platinums, P vs B (platinmum, basic?)

Default Thats correct but it has been reported

here that the platinum gave some problems and the copper has the best way to go.

I thought the platinum was an upgraded plug from sometime after 02. Turns out that was orginal!

Default Dooh - Just rechecked service records

They were changed at 40, I bought at 68 and did not look back in the service manual when I got to 80. I had forgotten the earlier change!

Looking at Bentley right now and it says 2002 2.7 uses BKR6ES. Why would there by platinum in there?

Default I'm not sure I would run standards to 40K maybe 10-15K.. I think the 40K interval is for

platinums.

Default Correct, 2 newly installed platinum went out on me within 6 weeks, back to simple basic

but FWIW, it could easy be a production flaw in this particular series of plugs.....
