Speaking of wheels...I had a curb incident...
I was a bit too confident in the newly fallen Seattle snow this past Sunday. Driving through my neighborhood in my 2001 allroad, I lost it briefly on some ice, momentarily regained control but glided relatively softly into a curb hitting the right rear wheel. I have the upgraded 17" wheels and the damage is very minimal cosmetically. Thankfully there wasn't anyone else in the car with me as their eardrums would have been blown out by my utter frustration. I'm only mildly concerned that there could have been some functional damage done. These wheels appear to be so tough but just wanted to get others insight as to whether any damage other than cosmetic is a realistic possibility. Any insight is appreciated!

Re: Hard to say in the rear, but when you rotate if there is a problem you'll feel it...
Yah, I go in for 10K Service in early Feb. so I'm going to have them check it out then...just wondering if anyone might have had a similar experience...

do you have snow tires on?
I am in the Seattle area too, and no, I didn't drive an allroad last weekend. Still waiting to finalize my order with all options and lease/purchase stuff.
I hit a curb while going downhill at 10 mph. The wheel that hit the curb was bent, so were some stuff in the steering system.
If you don't see any comestic damage in the wheel, does your steering wheel shake while driving at low speed? That's what happens to my car.
I think you might at least need to do an alignment, plus rotate the tires. Also ask them to check the steering system to be sure. That's what I did to my car after the incident.

No...just the Goodyear allroads...
There doesn't appear to be any functional issues, steering or otherwise, but I'm taking it in for 10K service in a week and I'm having them check it out. I am quite confident there isn't an issue but just want to be sure...more just a peace of mind type thing.
