it seems that everyone has referred to the link above....."Click Here for the allroad buyer's guide"

quote "What kind of Chip/Dip?

APR, GIAC, Dahlback, MTM, and OCt all make performance programs for the allroad (2.7 anyway). The consensus seems to be that they all similar power, and since local support is important, find a tuner near you and go with what they offer. You'll find fans of all these brands.

there is no best chip. They all do the same thing: increase your power output. The different brands just do it a little bit differently.

We have always said get a chip from a reputable tuner who is closest to you. Service is key and having a close by shop in case of other work or a problem is the selling point.

I just sold my 2001.5 Stg3 S4 after 9.5 years and 158,400 miles.

If you want a stg 3, you'll need cat-back, Downpipes, turbos, and fueling.

If you add that up -
$1700 for the Milltek Cat-back
$1600 for AutoSpeed 3inch Downpipes
Turbos - What do you want? Just K04s? or more? many options here that range from $2000-4000, plus RS4 inlets for K04 models (another ~400-800) -
Options for Turbos - Basic Stg3 - K04s and hybrids, GT, TiALs
$2000-3000Fueling (injectors), MAF (larger diameter for more air), and programming - Most kits/custom tunes are in the $2000-3000
Intercoolers - RS4, RS6, or ERs - $800-1600

Add it up - Yeah, that's at least $7k.
But you get something like this:
TiAL 605s running quarter mile of 12.3@116mph
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3I8nML9YVn0
Do you gain more from any other options? Not much, not worth it.

Trust ME! I have had over $100,000 invested in my B5 S4 in the past 9 years and now that I have sold the S4 and bought a 2005 6spd Allroad with 50k miles to replace it, I'm looking at starting all over again. Any other add-ons are not required.

I am driving out to Chicago next week to pick it up.
It's already Chipped, H-Sports, JHM Shifter, RNSe, clearbra, full paint silver, and Euro hitch.

I look forward to towing my race car (a miata) with it!

My first mod? Milltek exhaust. After trying 5 others (seriously - I hate japanese sounding exhausts) on my S4, Milltek makes the nicest exhaust out there! (I've also heard it on 2.0T, 4.2L V8 S4, RS4 V8s, and 1.8T....all sounded fantastic)

Also, custom tuning is the best way to go, since there are so few Allroad tuners, it'll allow you to mix and match parts and tune to what you have, even if you decided to skip the downpipes, or get some cool turbo.

I have a 03 Allroad that is currently STG3 -. It is a tip so Im probably going to stay at this level of power. It has a LEVEL 10 torque converter that should not blow up with this kind of power.

Im waiting for the tranny to give up its ghost and also get send to LEVEL 10 for an upgrade.

Man that kind of power just makes the allroad sing - its truly a beautiful car

I have the Milltek exhaust and agree with your comments about its sound. PS it sounds even better with Piggie downpipes

I won't be upgrading to Stg3 any time soon. After trying ALL THE 2.7T mods the first time around, I'm more likely to be content with Stg1-2+.

I had THE first set of Piggie pipes. Mike (Piggie) from Vast came to my house in the Boston area and did them on jackstands in my garage! Yes, I love the way you hear the snails whistle with the gutted precats.

I'm waiting until something breaks before I start swapping out parts.....maybe I'll do piggies this summer when I do my timing belt.

I look forward to the Milltek and Piggies (or ASP DPs), but my intention is for this AR to be my TOWBITCH to go with my TRKBTCH

No more Jeep Grand Cherokee

Now I got myself an Allroad!

Except I'll have my Miata on it.

I'll miss my S4, but I'm psyched about the Allroad!

Unless the turbos blow...then why would I replace the K03s with anything but an upgrade?
