Just looked at my brake rotors when I went to inflate my tires. There are lots of microscopic cracks on all 4 rotors.

is this normal?

Pretty sure that’s normal for carbon brakes.

Surface hairline cracks are normal for certain CCB rotors. Not all do it. Depends on the material characteristics. There's a discussion on a Lambo forum I came across. These cracks happen on Lambo rotors as well and somebody got a response from the plant that manufactures the rotors for Audi, Lambo and others and they confirmed that it is normal due to the different thermal expansion of the friction layer with the materials they use. If the cracks go deeper than the friction layer or you have chips, then that's a problem.
