Air Suspension question
I keep mine in Comfort mode most of the time (and flip the shifter to "S" when I want a more "spirited" throttle and steering response). I use Efficiency when on a road trip (but always flip the AC back to regular mode instead of Eco).

Based on the icon for the air suspension control there are 5 positions for the air suspension with, for the purpose of this discussion, position 1 as the lowest and position 5 as the highest.
In the highest "off-road" setting the suspension automatically rises to position 4 and there is an option to raise it further manually to position 5. The lowest available automatic setting appears to be in "dynamic" mode where the suspension lowers to position 2. Once it has reached position 2 the only option available is to raise it again; there is no way I can see to lower it further to position 1.
In a Cayenne I used to own the lowest air suspension setting was available for ease of loading, even if it wasn't useable when the vehicle was in motion. Is there no way to access the lowest position on the e-tron? It seems odd to display a level in the display for the suspension control that can't be reached but maybe I'm just missing something.
I believe, the air suspension affects spring rate and height.
Dropping the height will make the car less bouncy and a bit more stable in corners and rough roads. BEVs already have very low center of gravity due to low position of the heavy battery packs so unless you're taking a high speed corner at 'all road' mode height, you're not going to tip the vehicle over.
At higher speed an additional drop in suspension height to decrease drag/improve aerodynamics.
The trade off is a bit stiffer ride.
I recently had the motor on my Audi e-tron replaced at the dealership because it was showing a warning. Before this repair, my air suspension stayed at Level 4 even when I drove at higher speeds (for two years without issue). However, after the motor replacement, I’ve noticed that the suspension now automatically drops to Level 3 when I drive at speeds around 60 mph or higher.
The dealership is telling me this behavior is normal and based on the speed of the car. While I understand the suspension system may adjust for performance and efficiency, this change seems unusual since it didn’t happen before the repair.
Has anyone experienced something similar after repairs or updates? Could this be due to a reset, calibration, or software update during the motor replacement? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Here is anyhow the regulation plan (from self study programme 675, aka SSP675) . I suspect what you observe is the mandatory drop (in all drive modes) from "Intermediate level" to "Normal level" at 100 km/h (~60 mph). The various seconds given for the transition arrows is how long the speed must be observed before a level change happens. E.g. in auto mode, the speed must exceed more than 140 km/h for more than 20 seconds before the suspension goes to the lowest level. Arrows with "0 s" implies that the level change happens without any such wait time.
You can check what level the car has by keeping the drive select menu open (lower right corner). It will also show a small animation there when changing levels.
