Your locking pin looks recessed to me so I do not think that is it. I would not use the yellow cord. Instead you can just push the locking pin in with an Allan screw driver or something like it. But it does not look to me that it will go further in.

It may just be the angle of the shot but how does your left communication pin look, i.e. the one at the 8 o'clock position? Does it look straight like the one on the right or is it bent?
