We got the Cross Climate2 because we have to deal with snow and ice. Otherwise, we would just have gotten an all season tire.

Although new tires tend to be grippier than the worn out tires they are replacing, and might reduce range slightly because if this, it is unlikely that a tire such as the CrossClimate 2 is going to reduce range by 8%, which is what this person is claiming. Did he perform tests in a controlled environment, with the exact same conditions? There are so many things that can affect MPG/range (wind/speed/acceleration/weight/temperature) that to say one went down from 25 to 23 mpg just because one changed tires is a little ridiculous. My daily commute in my e-tron can vary widely from weekly average to weekly average, and that is with keeping tires, weight, everything the same. So slap some new tires on my e-tron, if I then average my first week and compare it to the previous week, how do I know the tires were the reason for any change in range with so many other variables?

Every tire I've ever looked at, there are people who say the tire is so loud they had to take it off their vehicle. Other people will say it is the quietest tire they have ever driven. So figure that one out. Without controlled environments, decibel readings, etc, I take subjective user reviews with a grain of salt.

If available in your tire size, I wouldn't rule out the CrossClimate 2 for the e-tron. I'm loving the tire on my Pacifica. It is quiet. I've not noticed any reduction in range due to the tire. (I'm not saying it doesn't reduce range, it might, a little, I haven't quantified it.) The handling is phenomenal, which is why I bought it. I just wish Michelin made it in the e-tron's 20" size so that I could buy it as the next replacement tire for my e-tron.

Michelin’s website (michelinman.com) claims to have the CrossClimate2 in the 20” etron size: 255/50R20 109V XL BSW (MSPN : 92056). Not sure where it is available to buy though

Thanks for that! Last November 255/50R20 was not available. Now I see it showing up on Discount Tire and Tire Rack as well.

I am still gathering info on tires for my 2019 e tron with 21" wheels and I am now looking at Pirellii Scorpion AS which supposedly have the foam for noise reduction. I notice that the '22 model e tron comes with Pirelli tires and am wondering if anyone out there can say what kind of mileage their getting. I realize that unless they drive a lot, there may not be any useful facts to pass along. Would appreciate any feedback.

It's great that Michelin keeps adding new sizes. The CrossClimate2 wasn't available for my A4 last summer but they've since added the size. OTOH, the Pilot Sport AS4 tires are great.

That milage is insane, given the weight of the vehicle and even rating for the tires (I never reach the tire rating before I need to replace). Which tire/wheel size/tire? (Continental 21", Goodyear 20", etc?) Did you rotate regularly? Drive conservatively? Share your secrets, please!

21” continentals
when I drive on the freeway 80-90mph
my fiancé drives 70-80mph
We don’t drive careful or slow in any means
Previous cars (3) over the past 7 years have had many many issues and replaced tires more than any of my friends combined. So the worst luck ever…

so with this Audi I have been taking it into Audi every 5k miles for a general check up. Up until 40k they rotated the tires every 5k. Last time I took it in (40k) they they would rotate them at 50k. And I did not go in for 45k I was not able to get appointment in time for that. So now at 52k I’ll be going in tomorrow for the 50k check up.

also getting range issue diagnosed GOM showing low miles at 100%

steering wheel sensitivity on cruise control

i Agree we have been very very lucky on these tires!!!

Are you talking 52,000 miles or kilometers?
