I too have Good Year Eagle Sport 255/50 R20 109H with 34,000 miles so far. Tread depth is currently 4/32 to 6/32.

I just rotated my tires this past weekend at 20k miles on the Goodyear 20". The thread depth was 6mm for LR, and 7mm for LF, RF, and RR. I figure the wear differences were caused by doing more right hand corners. The last set of Goodyears I had on the Model S lasted only 22k miles, so this is already much better. I'd be pretty happy if I can get 40k miles out of these tires.

Nice!
I don't think I'm on track for 40,000 miles...but only because of edge wear on the fronts. I haven't measured it but the majority of the treads are still well away from the wear indicator strips

I'm thinking maybe they didn't do such a great alignment job for me at the dealer.

I sure do wish I knew of a place with an real alignment guru....

AudiCare does not include tire rotation. For my ICE cars both Audi and Costco recommended tire rotation every 5,000 miles. I expect 40,000 miles from a set of tires but since we get a bit of snow here I’m ok with replacing them early if necessary.

A rotation would likely have minimized the cupping or at least spread it between the front and rear tires.

How many folks have seen very even wear vs uneven....?
and for those seeing uneven wear do you have an explanation for it.... sporty high speed cornering, known maintenance issue, etc....?
And are some of the tire brand/models tending to wear noticeably better than others?
I asked the tire shop guy about the Goodyear Eagles, he said they do notice worn outer edges on those. It’s just the design of the tires, not an alignment problem. With preventative rotation, the wear should be manageable.

If Goodyear added a bit more meat to the outer tread blocks, this would be a nonissue, but that would likely come at the expense of less crisp handling. In retrospect, I’d say the current design is a decent compromise.

My dealer has always rotated them for free when doing the 10K/yearly AudiCare service as they take off the wheels to do the brake inspection.

I got 39,000 miles on the OEM Goodyear tires. I had a flat in one of them and the dealer replaced all 4 tires with Goodyear again (the wheel and tire insurance stipulated the same tire as a replacement, and the others were due. So I only paid for 3 tires and got 4 new.
Overall the Goodyears are fine, but had I been able to choose, I would have moved to a different brand. I tend to prefer Michelin, but not sure they make an electric car tire.

on the rotation.....
I'm pretty sure the dealer short-cutted my 10k and 20k service intervals and skipped the rotation
I'm conflicted about it but mostly ok with it. Seems like whenever someone removes a wheel, they bend it and the car shimmies from that point on.... I'm happy to keep this car smooth like butter as long as possible

Art234, did you happen to notice hat sort of wear patterns you had at 39,000? very even? a little more on the edges?

There was more wear on the edges, the middle part still seemed ok but on the verge of replacement. And I kept the inflation on the high side and monitored alignment and rotation.

Continental CrossContact Conti-Silent 265/45 R21

36,000 miles
58,000 km

could have probably gone further 4,000 miles.
