The $799 processing fee is a ripoff. Pure profit. It is at best unethical and at worst should be illegal. I believe in NY the law limits it to $75.00. I’d ask them to remove it or reduce the price of the car accordingly. It does not cost then $800 to “process” a transaction.

Of course it doesn't. However the dealers will not negotiate that here in Northern Virginia, they will let you walk - I know - I walked on it twice on other cars and they tore up the contracts and said goodbye. So you just factor that in in your negotiations and don't get hung up on a line item charge. It's all in playing the game, The bottom line is the bottom line.

I paid $72500 (plus $500 dealer fee) in the first week of October for a premium plus with an MSRP of $77850. The MSRP was $80900 prior to the Driving Assistance pack discount that started Oct 1. In a couple of months I'll receive the $7500 fed credit and the Colorado $5000 state credit. Had it not been for those credits I would not have purchased the car.

I'd never pay that fee. I would buy out of state before I would allow myself to get ripped off like that. I would ask them to show the fee and deduct it from the price of the car. It actually should be illegal. I don't know how those dealers live with themselves.

Full disclosure I was in the car business for a few years long ago in a galaxy far far away.

With some negotiation among the dealers in my area, I got a 10k discount on MSRP for a Prestige. This is for a purchase (not lease) in the PNW area.

I got 11.7% off in early november. MSRP was 83680. That was MSRP with driver assist pack discount of 2850.

Also, if you are a USAA member there is a $ 2,500 rebate to the dealer on the E-Tron. It's all done on the USAA website through a dealer portal. I got that on mine.

No idea, as I did not discuss leasing. Your Audi dealer can tell you, however.
