While waiting for the 'Ring to open we happened to overhear an American accent and met a guy from Idaho with a lot of experience there. He took me around in his GT3 to "warm the tires up". Incredible! Anyway, he is friends with the frozenspeed guy, so he called him to see if he would be taking pictures, and told him we would be coming around and would like some. Later in the evening Jochen (that's the photographer) was at the Pistenklause restaurant (Sabine's family place in the Tiergarten hotel). He previewed the pics for me there and I bought everything he had, plus a cool book of stuff he did in 2010. It was perfect! Email him and ask, he's a really nice guy and is there a fair bit I think when he is not covering other races.
To be honest, the entire trip went like that. Perfect weather (65-70 every day and not a drop of rain), great hotels, great food, great beer, great wine, great roads, nice people. Just fantastic.

BTW, do you have Jochen's e-mail by any chance? Or perhaps I can try and dig that from the frozenspeed.com web site.
Thanks for sharing!

OK so am almost enjoying this now. You plug in the info here to get tracking info:
https://eurodelivery.ehharms.com/Edts/audi/
And then I googled the ship name (mine is Marina Ace) and I can go here:
http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/shi...MMSI=356067000
... and see exactly where it is, and more up to date destination info. Like the fact that it is due in 2 days early to Brunswick. Sweetness!

Agreed re: Audi and VAT. It's such an inconvenience to have to front that 19%. That's probably why there are so few Audi ED posts in this forum. Thoughts?
I was considering a S5 or 335 as my next car and BMW's ED program helped put me over the edge. It was tough to leave Audi after 20 years of ownership (and fun with Quattro). But, BMW is far more experienced with their ED program and the discount structure is insane vs. Audi. Most of us in BMW's ED program pay $500-$1000 over ED invoice/wholesale. Whereas ED i/w is 14% off of MSRP. That's almost a $7K discount for an average 3 series.
In any of these cases, you need to find a dealer/rep/Client Advisor who is knowledgable with ED. In my case, there are 3 or 4 BMW dealers/CA's in the Boston area who fit that profile. And everyone on the ED forum knows who they are.
