Burned out dash bulb in climate control area??
Hi: I've got a '95 S6 wagon and the bulb that illuminates the mirror control button and a portion of the temp display is burned out. When the car was under warranty they replaced at least 8 various burned out dash bulbs. Are burnouts this common? I would like to replace it myself if it is not too difficult. Are any special tools neeed? Can I access it if the radio is removed? Any instructions or pointers for the procedure would be appreciated! Thanks, Dave

It's very easy to replace bulbs.
The black piece of rounded trim below your gauge cluster comes out. There are two or three screws on the underside. After you've unscewed them, the piece of trim comes right out. Unscrew the three screws holding the cluster in. Jiggle the cluster loose, and start unclipping the wiring harnesses from behind. Pull it out, and replace bulbs as necessary.
