Default Can I bolt a GT30 center and compressor to my K26 hotside?

I know someone who has a GT30 that I can get dirt cheap. But the exhaust housing is for something else. Can i remove my turbos center and cold side and bolt this to my hotside or does the hotside wheel need to be matched to the housing?

Default Do you have yours going? Trying to decide GT30 or GT30/40R

I would like to see your whp and where you are making full boost. I want big #'s but I don't want to come on at 4500.

Right but are the wheels matched to the housing? Does a K26 require a different wheel than a T3?

Default I am thinking you would like the GT3076 (GT30R) with a .82 A/R vs the GT3082

The GT30R will hit 800-1000 RPM earlier and pull hard to redline. The 3082 will be around 4500 and pull harder to redline turning your rods in to bent art and transmission in to dust

I would not do the larger turbo without doing a P&P of the head and turbular manifold to reduce lag.

Default Really depends on what kind of power you want, and what the motor is built for.

A 30R will get you 400whp w/o too much trouble, the 30/40R will get you more towards 500. The 30r comes on around 4500 or so, the 30/40 around 5-5200.

A 30 makes a great road course track turbo on a 2.2-2.5l motor, the 30/40 will be a bit more peaky with more potential HP, at the expense of the powerband, depending how far you're revving.

So yeah, whatcha got for a motor first, what will you be revving to, etc?
