I'm pleased with the look, and the way they make the car feel.

I also fixed a number of small annoying things that were broken. Namely, the hood never closed right after I took the crossbar out to do the timing belt... I fixed that. I cleaned my ISV, and the engine. I fixed a minor trunk problem.

Phew... it feels pretty good to have a lot of that small stuff fixed now.

Default How much where they? where do you get them?

So you can run them with stock wheels and tires? Front and back? Any ill effects?

Default The ill effect is that it's a royal pita to get the wheels mounted.

They're still hub-centric, but the wheel has a smaller lip to rest on.

Other than that, they make the car look and handle better; wider = better.

Default You should not need them with stock wheels.

The only reason Mike needs them is because he is running the A6 wheels (different offset). Spacers with stock wheels will push them further out of the wheel well.

Default True.

I don't really NEED them either, but I want 35 mm offset rather than 45. It looks much better. I suppose one could go from 35 to 25 for an even more aggressive look, but running non-stock offsets has strange effects on the suspension geometry. You also might rub the outside lip if you're low enough with a low offset.

Default Looking at your before and after photos, the difference is drastic.

The before photos look OK...until you see the after photos and see where the wheel is really supposed to be. Much nicer. After seeing them, I would argue that they were a "need" ;-)
Of course, as an Audi owner, my priorities may not be what others would call normal - lol
