Default Follow up to boost leak...

After fixing what the A/C shop broke (ok, forgot to reinstall) before the weekend, the car is waaaay down on power. It runs and drives smoothly and doesn't hesitate or buck or do anything else out of the ordinary. It just does have any kick. I'm used to getting pushed into my seat back at 3k RPM and that's no longer happening. I haven't pulled the codes yet so I don't know exactly what the problem is, but I'm just wondering if the ECU operates in a 'safe mode' after experiencing a major boost leak. Does the battery need to be disconnected for a while to reset the ECU?

Check the hose that sends the manifold pressure to the ECU. In particular the hose clamps.

PS get a boost gauge if you don't already have one.

Default i had a problem with my WGFV (wastegate solenoid) that had similar results

but i could see it wasn't making more than 7-8 psi. i replaced it and it worked fine.

Default I'm sure you're right. I only saw that the MM hose was disconnected...

but I'll bet the shop had unbuttoned a few more things to get a look at the AC compressor.
