has anyone installed an aftermarket keyless entry system? mine didn't come with one at all

I think you have a key with a built in light that is burnt out.

Your key has a channel, not bumps, right? The cut part should look like your old S key, not your house key. If so, you have a 1995.5. You need the fob.

yeah, it has a channel. i suppose the LED on the end could be a visible-light LED

not an IR tramsmitter.

Just 1995.5. All the 1995's had IR.

The bump on the b pillar is one easy way to tell the diffence.

There was a set of cars mid-95 that got neither system.

The factory was out of IR setups but the RF stuff wasn't available yet. A buddy has one of those cars too. He's got the old key but no reciever on the B-pillar.
