Hydraulic lifter replacement
Has anyone replaced the 20 hydraulic lifters on their S4 or S6 yet?? ( little ticking on start up and WOT) I am considering doing this soon along with valve seals and valve cover gasget. Are there any other components that should be replaced while doing this procedure?? I know this is a good time to do a new exhuast cam since you have to pull the cams, but can you just do the RS2 cam or 7A cam replacement and not do anything else? ( does it require new software to make the cam function properly) Because this summer I am going to do the RS2 exhaust manifold and turbo and if I can run the car with just the new cam till then I will since they will already be in there.
Thanks Guys,
Darren

Some would replace the valve springs but it is not required. Definately do the valve stem seals, if you are DIY make sure to be careful when installing the new stem seals as you can actually make them worse than they were before install if not careful. Sounds like you are on track....
