It looks as high as the stock suspension used to be. Anyone had issues with these before?
The only 2 things I can think of that I didn't do like the Bentley says is the top nut on the shock and the bottom mounting bolt/nut. The allen hex was stripped out so I couldn't torque the top nut properly. So, I measured the RH shock before I took it apart and ran the nut on the LH shock down the same distance with an impact gun. Then I did the same when I reassembled the RH w/ the spacer installed. I may try removing the shocks again and running the top nut down further.
On the bottom mounting bolt I torqued it to spec with the suspension unloaded rather than with the car on the ground like the Bentley says to do. Torqueing that bolt with the car on the ground would be really difficult unless it's on a drive on hoist. I only have a 4 point lift, bummer. ;-)

Is it possible to lower the front rather than raise the rear?
If you look at the pic in my sig you can see the back is lower, but I like how the rear sits. I'd prefer to lower the front to match the rear rather than raise the rear too much.

it's definitely possible
they should be put on the strut such that the highest point is where the perch meets the shock, and the lowest point is the lip/seat for the spring. if it's on the other way, the car will be 1/2" or so higher. also, if they are on the wrong way, the perch makes a "cup" which will trap water and road crud, and rust out the spring perch.

Does anyone have a picture of what the rear perch should look like installed?
Maybe I did put them on upside down. It looked to me like they could only go on one way.
It would be nice if that is the problem since they only take about 1/2 hour each to remove, disassemble and reinstall.

Here's an MS paint picture:
This doesn't show the spacers, but the perches go on like this:

The spacers simply go below the spring perch, with the perch oriented as shown on the left. When you install the spacer correctly, the machined notch in one end will cover & secure the snap ring on the shock.
