K Frame (95 S6)
I have a mysterious "klunk" at the front of my car when backing up on full lock. I took it to a local import car repair shop with a good reputation (my favorite Audi guy has moved) and thet are advising me that the likely cause is worn out K frame bushings/attachments. They spent about 45 min with two guys looking at the car on the lift and driving it. They cannot replicate the noise on the lift. Before spending $1200 to replace, does anyone have any other ideas.
Thanks

Loose strut cartridge maybe?
Anyways $1200 for bushing/bushings replacement sounds like alot. Are you talking about the subframe bushings? If they want $1200 for just bushings replacement I think I would look for another shop.

They're scheisters. $1,200 for bushings in your front end is a joke.
I really don't know what "k frame" bushings are. Subframe bushings maybe? Either way, stay clear of these guys!

My turbo side motor mount was shot. rattled when i went over bumps. But...
can't see how that would be your problem also based on your description. However, Worth a look I suppose.
Are you saying the clunk is when you throw it into reverse (as in maybe the shift rod hitting the tranny tunnel)? Or does it make the noise after your car starts moving in reverse (i.e. suspension or something hitting)?
