Default Question for you problem solvers out there...when VAG won't "recognize" the car

is that a possibility for a faulty ECU? Was up installing my Stromung and new ABS sensors yesterday when an S6 got towed into the shop. 220k on the clock and it won't start... hooked up the VAG and turned the ignition half way, and nothing, it won't recognize the car. My first thought was a bad ground wire, but the car had just been running the day before and it is rather unlikely...could this be a possible bad ECU?

Default Most likely a bad ignition switch. ECU's die but basically only after being drowned (due to ...

clogged cowl drains).

Good point, I haven't heard of a dying ECU unless it has been drowned...

When you turn the does the CEL light up? Blown fuse to the ECU?
