S6 CUTS OUT ABRUPTLY AT WIDE OPEN THROTTLE
#11
However, did you know that when the Michelin Man cross-over to intercooler hose split opens up and dumps a massive amount of air, the ECU freaks out and goes into limp mode? Turning the key off and on likely resets the ECU back to non-limp mode and the process starts over again.
But please, persist in ignoring good advice and DO NOT check for boost leaks.

Tom: Sorry but with that attitude, there is no reason to ask your question here. You apparently know the answer already. LOL.

My ECU is acting oddly, but just on occasion. I got 20-30 ok runs between ECU failures--boosting perfect (I have a gauge)--overboost works fine.
When it goes into this mode, it shuts off as in ignition shut off when I floor it.
At part-throttle runs normal.
But when I re-start it it is fine & no boost loss--runs great.
It also occasionally goes to a 2100 RPM "idle" when I start it. Again if I re-start, it is normal again.
I am in the mode of waiting for these faults to become more regular.

IF you haven't done a proper boost leak test as per my Boost Leak Post, i.e. complete intake and PCV system under say 15-20 psig, with soapy water, I remain skeptical that you don't have a boost leak.
Sorry. Good luck.
