I saw somewhere a while back that the coolant temperature fully wamred up should be almost straight up. Mine only goes a bit past the first mark after it leave the bottom. I would guess at about the 10:30 location.

If this is true, I will change the thermistat. I just want someone elses input.

Mine used to run even cooler than that, new thermo fixed it.

But I used the 80 degree thermostat instead of the stock 87.

the gauge sits at the first bold line (the second line from begining lines).

My '96 2.8L is slow to warm up and cools off on the highway, likely the thermistat? Also what is normal oil temp. for these engines? Is the thermistat buried in the back by the firewall?
