WTB: Adapter "kit" for UrS6 steering wheel and switches into an UrS4.
I want to go the UrS6 switch way for an install of a UrS6 steering wheel in my 93 S4 so the signals will cancel properly. However, I have just found out that the UrS6 steering wheel area switches (lights, wipers, etc) switches don't mate correctly with the UrS4 wiring harness and plugs.
At one point in time, Alex van Gerbig (Europrice) had an adapter kit to connect UrS6 switches to UrS4 switch harness plugs. I think there was also a collar to compensate for the size of columns (or something). I have pinged Alex (no response).
Any other leads, alternatives (that don't involve cutting something?)?
TIA

For the column adaptor, believe it or not, you can use aluminum ducting tape. Wrap it around tightly until it is the correct size for the column switch clamp. I think this is the factory adaptor, but I haven't been able to confirm. Some cars have a non removable sleeve:

Any idea how different the switches and connections are?
I'm hoping to use the same route to upgrade my 92 S4 to a sport wheel, but I have a slightly different problem- because it's a 92, I need to retain the right hand column switch (regular and intensive washers, trip computer) and just want to swap out the left switch so the self-cancelling will work without modding the steering wheel.

Good point... let me know as well...
As I have a '95.5, but want to use a '92 wiper switchgear for use with going through the modes when I install a TDS-1 display unit.

switches are totaly different, SW is exchangeable
switches has different mounting diameter
and electrical connectors/harnesses
swap arms only or continue searching for UrS4 switches

I don't think you need the plugs, just the tab off the clockspring...
You can keep your existing switches if you cut and glue the cancel "ring" or "tab" off your existing steering wheel clockspring and glue it to the UrS6 3 spoke wheel. It then will self cancel the directional.
