I am looking for a way to enlarge the center console cup holder, as the three tabs grip too tight for my favorite cups. This is the US console without the flip lid.
On my A6 the spring on one of the tabs broke or became dislodged, and it turned out to be an improvement.
I would like to either remove the springs behind the three tabs, or remove the tabs all together. It looks like I can get to them from the back, but I have not been able to find instructions on removing the cupholder assembly. Do I need to remove a lot of trim? Or does it just pry out, or are there hidden screws?
