in all fairness to AOA
i want to recognize how great they were to me a couple of years ago. i was rear ended in my brand new B7 S4, at a time when parts for the B7 were almost non existent. they called me personally after the A4/S4 product manager read this post and expedited the parts to my dealer.
i was elated. i think his name was Chris ?
anyway. perhaps my love affair with the brand had jaded me into feeling spoiled. but i do not take it for granted, they helped me get my baby back within a few weeks.
i will not be a hypocrite and say i will not buy the R8 if i do have to wait who knows how long. but i still feel firmly let down by their lack of concern for my situation. like i said in one of my replies below- i would not have a problem waiting as long as i needed to if knew they did their best to get me (and others such as i) a car as quickly as possible.

if it makes you feel better...our 2 WEEK old A8 (delivered last nov). Got egged on halloween.
I think you know how mad I was when I called the 911 over that and felt like ripping every teenagers head off.

you obviously have not been egged, and you dont want to. The egg shell left nasty swirl patterns but
the acidic yolk contents did not etch thanks to the wax on the car. and I was driving around 7pm, car sits in the garage every night.
