Aftermarket wiring help for 03 A4... Help PLZ...
I thought i posted this earlier but it didnt show up.. so here goes again.. I tried the search function but everything seems to be sorta vague to me and im not sure to which body style/ year the answers correspond to... SO...
I have an 2003 Audi A4 3.0 CVT and have some questions regarding the non-bose stereo system i believe its the symphony II?..
1. I am installing an aftermarket Radio into this car.. Is there a wiring harness out for this year/ model A4? and who makes it(scosche? Metra?) and what part# if possible?
2. I know there isnt a dash kit out for this car yet.. but Will i need the any other items to install a different HU?? (VW antenna adapter)
3. Will i loose any other functions to my car aside from the display on the dash, and the steering wheel controls? Im specifically asking bout the alarm, etc..
4. Are their any special installation instructions i need to know? I am specifically asking bout this K wire hookup..
5. Will the PAC/ Peripheral/etc steering wheel control units work with in the new B6 Bodys? and if so.. which will i need to get?
Currently, I had new speaker wiring ran through my car as well so im not using the stock speaker wires... I already have an amp and new speakers already replacing the stock equipment.. and am using the factory deck via the blaupunkt adapter... my main concern here is any special notes/ precautions i may need to take with the factory radio..
thanks for any help..

Re: The forums are a little tricky to search sometimes .....
#5 i was referring to the steering wheel control interfaces that PAC and Peripheral offer for like BMWs, Chevys, etc.. to interface an aftermarket deck with the steering wheel controls...
but thanks for the heads up on the other stuff.. same info as i found.. but those r listed for the older bodystyle.. are the wiring harnesses still the same as the newer models? if so then thanks.. all i wont do is hook up the K wire correct? if there is a pin there i can just pull it outta the wiring harness and that should work correct?

You do not want to hook up the k-wire with aftermarket headunits.
You can pick up the harness at most audio shops for a couple of bucks. They use the same one's for older and newer from what I remember.
